Like we reported, Samsung today launched its REX series of feature phones to take on Nokia’s Asha. The series consists of four phones – REX 60, REX 70, REX 80 and REX 90 – that start from Rs 4,280 and go up to Rs 6,490.
The REX 60 features a 2.8-inch QVGA resistive display, smart Dual-SIM feature that we saw in the Galaxy Grand, a 1.3-megapixel camera and boasts 15 hours of talk time. Like Nokia’s Swipe UI, Samsung is using its TouchWiz UI and comes with Facebook and Twitter integration.
The REX 70 has a 3-inch capacitive QVGA display, smart Dual-SIM and a 2-megapixel camera. Samsung claims 13 hours of talktime. The rest of the features are the same as the REX 60.
The REX 80 also has a 3-inch capacitive QVGA display, smart Dual-SIM, 3-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and 14.7 hours of talktime.
The REX 90 sports a 3.5-inch capacitive HVGA display, smart Dual-SIM with true hot swap, Wi-Fi, 3.2-megapixel camera and 15 hours of talk time.
While Nokia Asha full-touch phones come with 40 free EA games, Samsung’s REX series get 10 Gameloft games as well as popular IM services like Gtalk, Yahoo Messenger among others
