2013 Honda CR-V launched in India at Rs 19.95 lakh

Honda’s first offering for the year 2013 is here and ready to take on the competition!

Honda India has rolled out its all-new crossover, the 2013 CR-V in India with a starting price of Rs 19.95 lakh. The premium offering is out in the market to take on the likes of Mitsubishi Outlander and Chevrolet Captiva.

Offered with a total of two petrol-only engine options and four variants, prices for the 2013 Honda CR-V start at Rs 19.95 lakh for the entry-level 2-litre MT variant while the top-of-the-line 2.4-litre AT with AVN (Audio/Video/Navigation) costs Rs 23.85 lakh (Both prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi).

As for the engine and drive-train specifications, the 2-litre petrol unit produces 156 PS of power and 190Nm of torque with a fuel economy of 13.7 kmpl. While the 2.4-litre petrol unit produces 190 PS of power and 226Nm of torque with a fuel economy of 12 kmpl. Both the engines are mated to a 5-Speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, while the 2-litre MT unit can be had with a 6-Speed manual gearbox as an option.

The 2.4-litre petrol variants run the 4WD (Four Wheel Drive) system, while the 2.0-litre variants have a FWD (Front Wheel Drive) configuration. All automatic variants will come with paddle shifters.

Furthermore, the fourth-generation CR-V has implemented low friction bearings and electric power steering, which contributes towards better fuel economy. There is also an ECON mode in the model, which when activated uses a more sober tune for the air conditioning, engine and transmission to achieve optimum fuel economy.

Feature wise, there is an integrated 6-speakers Audio with CD, USB and iPod connectivity, while the top-end variant comes with a 6.1-inch touchscreen System which is compatible with video and satellite navigation. There is also an Electric Sun Roof, Cruise Control, Driver Seat Adjustment, Steering Adjustment and Dual-Zone AC. Safety features include Rear View Camera, ABS with EBD, Hill Start Assist, Parking Brake, which comes as standard and six dual-SRS airbags.

To enhance the cosmetic appeal of the CR-V, Honda has charted out two accessory packages - Inspire Style Package and Elegance Style Package. The Urban Inspire Style Package adds a dash of chrome on the visor, garnish the side-step and exhaust pipe and features a tail gate spoiler and a running board. The Elegance Style Package, on the other hand features a tweaked front grille and a chrome fog light in addition to the chromed exhaust pipe, side-step and tail-gate.

A total of five exterior colours options are being offered - Carnelian Red Pearl, Sparking Brown Metallic, Urban Titanium Metallic, Taffeta White and Alabaster Silver Metallic.
